The Mission of Summit Point Church is "to make disciples." The Missions ministry of the church seeks to fulfill that mission via church planting. Thus, the Local Outreach aspect of Summit Point Church Missions helps Summit Point shine the light of Jesus in the local community.

This is accomplished by actively involving our body in the life of the surrounding community with the specific intent of helping felt needs, in order to act as a light to draw others back to the local church. These activities may be decidedly evangelistic, or they may just be compassionate in nature. But they will always allow the church to be a local light and eventually lead to sharing Jesus.

Current Church Initiatives include:

GIVING TREE - As we approach the Christmas season, Giving Tree allows individuals and families to share the love and joy of Christ with families in East Peoria by providing Christmas gifts for children who otherwise would not receive any.

COMPASSION DAY - This is a day for the church body to rally together to serve Him as we serve others. We branch out into the surrounding community serving at local ministries and non-profit organizations spreading the light and love of Jesus Christ to the region.

SNACK PACKS - We are partnering with local schools to provide food to students on the free or reduced lunch plan for over the weekend. This will be ongoing throughout the school year and is going to be a great way for our children in Higher Ground, Fuse, and Fuel to get involved in local missions as they participate in food drives and help to pack the lunches themselves.

    Current Community Partnerships include:

GREATER PEORIA AREA FCA- They present to athletes and coaches and all whom they influence the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church.

KIDS & TEENS 519/COMEBACK KIDS CAMP - We assist this organization as they train church leaders, start camps, and encourage leaders on short term trips both domestically and internationally whom partners assist the local church planting new churches.

MIDWEST FOOD BANK - We assist this organization as they help bridge the gap between prosperity and poverty in our community by gathering large food donations from nationwide corporations and distributing them to social service organizations, as well as, national disaster sites, at no charge.

PEORIA CHRISTIAN CENTER - We assist this organization as they provide facilities, programs, and activities as a means to share Jesus Christ. Throughout the years, the dream of PCC has remained steadfast: to provide a place where Christians can grow and the lost can find Christ.

PEORIA RESCUE MINISTRIES - Peoria Rescue Ministries exists to serve and glorify God through a Christ-centered outreach of love that responds to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of hurting men and women, and their dependent children, without regard to race, creed or social standing.

SOUTH SIDE MISSION - We assist monthly in helping this mission as they "preach the Good News of Jesus Christ to the poor, and in His name to love, feed, house, clothe, and teach all those people He sends to us."

TEEN CHALLENGE - We assist this organization as they strive to evangelize and disciple men and women who have life-controlling problems.

THE FORGOTTEN INITIATIVE - Their mission is to bring joy and purpose to the foster care community by mobilizing the Body of Christ to serve, mentor, and support this community. They serve agency workers, foster parents, vulnerable adults, and seek to show Jesus to the one who feels forgotten.
