As we dive into scripture, we can see the nature of our King, character of our King, and actions of our King. Let’s look deep and “See the King”! In this Easter season, let’s see Him in the crucifixion, in the resurrection, and in the creation. So, why do so many choose to make their feelings their King? Let’s look deep.
As we seek to abide, to draw life from Jesus (the vine), we are called to obey. How do we know His commands and calls? How do we know what to obey? We find God’s direction and expectations recorded in His word. The Bible is our guide to knowing the heart of our God and following Him with all we have. So, let’s dig deep into His word, trust as we learn, and obey what He calls us to.
Christmas is a great season gaining rest, reflection, and perspective… a time of worship and celebration of Jesus as our King. This sermon series looks at all Jesus is in His First Coming. We will look at Jesus through the eyes of Mary, Paul, the Shepherds, and Simeon.
We are called to abide in Jesus, to draw life from Him as a branch draws from a vine. But more, as we abide in Him we can have hope in Him through a powerful prayer walk. True faith that is poured out in trusting hope will have the privilege of seeing God move in huge ways. How should we pray? What does faithful prayer look like?
We are called to draw life from our great God. Jesus taught His disciples about this by using a metaphor. As they were passing a vineyard, He taught them of life in Christ. Jesus is the vine. He is the life-giver. We are the branches, dependent on Him… and nothing without Him. This series will teach us to follow Him, to lean on Him, and to draw life from Him.
This is a single sermon that will set up the sermon calendar for all of 2023-2024. We will have John 15:1-13 as a roadmap for our entire year of sermons. John 15 calls us to lives of fruitful living as we draw life from Jesus as the vine. We are the branches, and the Father is the vinedresser. As we follow the John 15 commands, we will experience a life-altering, joy-instilling journey with our King, no matter the circumstances.
When our worship is on fire and when our hearts are stirred and growing, how do we maintain that fervor? How do we continue with deep celebratory worship in the face of struggle? In every circumstance, we must lean in and declare... even then, I will worship!
This world was designed by a perfect God, and it was created to perfection. All was found very good. In the collapse of man’s sin, the physical world went into a downward spiral. Jesus, the Creator and Savior, is working to restore all to a state of perfection while displaying His glory. So, through mercy and wrath, through destruction and creation of new, He will do just that. He is making all things new! This is our great hope. We are headed to a New Heaven, New Earth, and New Jerusalem with no more pain, sorrow, or sin. Forever with Him!
In a world that is wrestling to define its own truths, to worship in its own way, to listen to feelings over facts… why should we listen to this Jesus? He is greater than any and all others. He is God Himself, creator, sustainer, God with us, and God for us. May we see Him for all that He is and bow down!
How will the end unfold? How will the final years play out? Have you ever wondered what God will do to show His authority and power, ultimately putting all things under His rule? This section of the Book of Revelation reveals God at work (the thunderous sevens) and Satan trying to keep up (the copycat). This portion of the book explains the final seven years and shows how God’s wrath is poured out, how many are saved, and how Christ comes to rule.
In this Christmas season, let’s all take time to rest in our God and His greatness. Let’s take time to worship and celebrate our God whose name is above all others. His names show off His character in full glory! Let’s bow before Him.
As we dig in to the Book of Revelation, we will be seeking to fan the flame of our worship of Jesus and embrace the blessings that He promises for those who read and hear the book. Revelation is a wake-up call for the Church. God has a plan, He is moving quickly to an end that places Him as Lord over all forever. So, how should we as a church respond? This is our wake-up call!
How should I respond to Jesus, my God, my Savior, my High Priest, my Sacrifice and my source of faith itself? May I live a life of passion and fervency that is committed to worship and obedience to Jesus. May I be all in for Him!
The call to worship the one is Greater than all others is actually a call to on fire faith. But what is faith? What does faith look like when under pressure? Is faith perfectly obedient? If Jesus is my Savior and my very faith, then how should I walk with Him?
Ever wonder why when we are saved we are not immediately taken home to Heaven? What is the purpose of being a believer in this largely unbelieving world? God calls each believer to be a living example of the truth of Jesus at work in them. We are called to be a light on a hill, a hope in a dark storm. So what does it look like to allow Jesus to lead me in each facet of my life so that I can be a light?
In Jesus last days He delivered thunderous statements of hope. He promised a revealing of truths about Himself, Heaven, Holy Spirit, and His word. Know this, as we trust in Jesus … we will see!
Where should I place my hope, trust and faith? What is so great about this Jesus? In every facet He is found greater! There is no better payment. There is no way to cover my sins except through Jesus. He alone is my hope and sacrifice for my sins.
The Christmas story is not just a story of what happened 2000 yrs ago. Rather, it is the story of God making and fulfilling promises … that make an impact even today. The Christmas story is the story of hope and purpose, all to the glory of God!
Where should I place my hope, trust and faith? What is so great about this Jesus? In every facet He is found greater! He is greater than all other ways, any other means. He is my Great Mediator, my High Priest!
Where should I place my hope, trust and faith? What is so great about this Jesus? In every facet He is found greater! He is greater than all creation. He is God Almighty.
The battle cry for the believer: “the righteous shall live by faith!” If faith is assurance in things hoped for, what does that faith look like when lived out? What does it look like to follow, trust, persevere when under hardship? May we pick up our mantle … and live by faith.
When we face injustice and unrighteousness we long for a righteous judge. When that judge seems to move slower than what we would want, our faith is often rattled. Stirred. It draws out in us a questioning spirit. How do we struggle and grow while maintaining a worship? How can we grow when our faith is under fire?
Our calling is to follow, and follow well. Our calling is to come to know the God of all and see the value in following Him. He is the Almighty God, the sacrificial Lamb, our Hope, and our King …. Let us lay down self … and follow Jesus.
The church is meant to be a bright light on a hillside. And that happens as each of us pursues a growing thriving relationship with our God through the Holy Spirit. We must fan the flame on our worship and our walk … all for His glory. Fan in spite of trial. Fan with Truth. Fan with testimony.
When our hearts experience the amazing, the other, the different, the divine … we sing! We express with word and song the joys and wonders in front of us. Can you imagine the emotion and passion of the Songs of the first Christmas?
As we seek to rebuild this church one step at a time, just what is our target? What does a healthy church look like? Let’s follow the blueprint of a church on fire as detailed in 1 Timothy. May God get all the glory!
Our love of our God is shown in how we spend our time and our treasure. What we cling to is what we worship. May our clinging to our God and our spending of our time and treasure, reflect our praise of God and the one true God!
Biblical Hope is absolute certainty in the future we have in Jesus Christ. Our souls long for that protection, provision, care and certainty. We can only find that hope as we learn to take our many hurts and lay them at His feet. That is finding … Hope that Heals.
How would you have responded if you met Jesus right after He rose again? Can you imagine? Jesus death and resurrection is the turning point in all of scripture. He is our life. Our hope. May we drop to our knees … and take hold!
Experiencing our God is a great privilege – a summit like experience. Each step of each day with our God is a Summit Walk. We must step out boldly, purposefully, and worshipfully. The key to a Summit Walk is in each God honoring step!
Jesus Christ, the Light of the world, is our great God visiting us in the flesh. He comes bearing gifts. Gifts of life, and adoption, and victory. In this Christmas season may we celebrate our Savior and thank Him for the great gifts He gives.
As we go after living the Summit Life, we must stay true to a set of Core Values that will keep us close to Christ. These core values ensure a church on fire, and a heart on fire. All for God’s Glory!
We have a God that loves us, and pours out blessing as we humbly respond and pursue Him. As we meet with Him in all of His glory, He rocks our world with a mountain top or summit experience. An experience that changes us personally, and at times even changes the circumstances themselves. Let’s long for those summit experiences. Let’s pursue our God who promises those summit experiences. Let’s seek a … summit life.
There is none greater, none more powerful, none more capable than Jesus. All authority is rightly His. From the smallest to the greatest power, all is His. So, let’s rally and worship the one with all authority. Jesus!
Life with Christ is unparalleled. He brings us life – “In Living Color’. There is richness. There is hope. There is life change. And all of this lasts for eternity. May we walk with our God … and experience a God worth knowing and a life worth living.
God has an amazing message of relentless love. But there is more. He chooses to send that message through fragile, struggling, human beings like Jonah … and us. What a privilege we have to carry such an important message.
The Christian walk is defined Biblically as a battle. We battle against outside forces: the world, and the devil. We battle against inner forces: the flesh. How do we properly take a stand to avoid sin and worship our God? This is a call to arms …. On Guard.
Christmas is the character of God on full display. We get the privilege of unwrapping the most precious gift. A gift wrapped in hope, joy, love and peace. We celebrate: Immanuel, God with us!
We seek to be a church on fire! But what does that take? We must recognize that Jesus is building His church. We must adhere to the pillars and practices to which He calls us. We must be a church with…firm foundations.
The Jewish Feasts were meant to be massive celebrations. They were festive, joyous and relaxing. They were meant to look back at how God had provided and look forward to Him being all that and more. The first four have already been fulfilled in Jesus at His first coming. The second 3 are spiritually filled in His first coming and will be physically fulfilled at His second coming!
We have an amazing God who loves us with all He is. He reaches in to our lives, calls us out of our brokenness, empowers transformation in us, and ensure eternity with Him. How should we respond to such a King? We must give Him our all … fully committed!
When troubles mount it is so easy to allow our hearts to react in sinfulness. There are four main quadrants of sin (fear, despair, anger, foolishness). Each of us will sin according to our broken heart. How should I handle my sin in the midst of my troubles?
In the midst of a broken world we must know and worship the unbroken God of all. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, protecting, providing and life-giving. He is a Mighty Fortress.
The Christian journey is not a journey of weakness, but rather of victory! We have hope in this walk with Jesus because of the work He has already done, and the work that He will do! Because of His death we have victory over sin, because of His resurrection we have victory over death, and because of His second coming we will see Jesus gain ultimate victory over all rebellion.
This world is fraught with hurtful people and problems. As we struggle through each day we can choose to live in frustration over circumstance, or in full joy over my God and His powerful plan.
What is saved? Can I know that I am saved? Can I lose my salvation? We serve an amazing, loving restoring God with a huge plan. He clearly reveals his plan in scripture, “that we may know”.
Christ, our Lord and Savior, made Himself poor for our benefit. The Father lavished on us all, graciously and beyond measure. We are now called to live a life of grace in this world … we have what we have … to be Generous.
This spiritual journey with Christ at the helm is only possible with His power, His purposes, and His perspective. Knowing He has it all in hand, we may step out … Fearlessly!
This second series takes a real, honest look at our struggle -- at how sin affects our heart. We will look at root causes, understand how worship can address the problem, and see God as our source of hope and healing.
Who am I? That is best answered by seeing who I am in Christ! In the first of a three-part series, we will walk through the first half of Ephesians and watch as God reveals His perfect plan.
